Long Meadow Ranch/Farmstead Restaurant

I first met Laddie Hall in the 1980’s while volunteering in the San Francisco Junior League. Although I have not stayed in touch with her over the years, during the summer months I have lunch at her Farmstead Restaurant several times a month. It is my favorite lunch spot!

The menu has many options, but I always seem to order the caramelized beet salad and grilled artichoke. They do have delicious meatballs that I sometimes will share with a friend.

Long Meadow Ranch winery and farm includes three vineyard estates, many acres of fruit and vegetable gardens, Farmstead Restaurant, a private farmer’s market and a general store/wine tasting room.

With more than 2000 acres, Long Meadow Ranch grows organic grapes for wine, olives, heirloom fruits and vegetables, chickens and grass-fed long-haired Scottish Highland cattle, producing more than 100,000 pounds of produce for the restaurant annually.

You can purchase their organic produce and products at both the Napa and St. Helena farmer’s markets as well as at the farm stand on the Farmstead Restaurant property.

This tractor sits on the property and every time I go for lunch, guests are taking their photo next to it.

The St. Helena property includes a terrific outdoor cafe for coffee, snacks and pastries, the restaurant, beautiful gardens that you can walk through, a farmer’s market, an outdoor bar, the general store/wine tasting room as well as the smoker they use at the restaurant.

Next time you are in St. Helena, I recommend having lunch or dinner at Farmstead Restaurant!
