I have been searching for indoor plants trying to bring a garden into my home. A friend mentioned I should visit Flora Grubb Gardens in San Francisco. Flora Grubb has a wonderful variety of both indoor and outdoor plants as well as being a great source for planters. I had visited Flora Grubb Gardens many years ago, but had forgotten what an extraordinary shop it is.
Yes, Flora Grubb is an actual person! After living in Texas and visiting San Francisco, Flora moved here is 2001 and started a landscape company. She and her partner started a nursery in 2003 and then moved to expand to the current location in 2007.
Flora Grubb offers a complimentary in-store design session as well as customized on-site design and planning. It also offers workshop planting parties at The Potting Bench. I spent over an hour there this weekend and can’t wait to go back.
They are known for the colorful outdoor tables and chairs for sale like the ones hanging above as well as the abundant varieties of succulent plants and ferns.
Flora Grubb is a destination spot. There were families milling around looking at children’s plant supplies, couples shopping for plants as well as interiors items and then there were the folks that just came for a great pastry and latte. Flora Grubb has a fabulous cafe in the middle of the store serving Ritual coffee.
A must see if visiting San Francisco!
