Happy Thanksgiving

I drove up to the Napa Valley yesterday afternoon from San Francisco with the car loaded with flowers, groceries and activities for the long Thanksgiving weekend. It is one of my favorite holidays because it is simply about family, friends and food. No gifts required.

Passing by the vineyards, with the vines of red, yellow and orange hued leaves shimmering in the dappled fall light, I was struck by how blessed my life is. I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful for my extraordinary husband and my great children. I am thankful for good health, money in the bank and many great friends. I am thankful to have Carolyn in my life and that we decided to create this blog.

I am hosting Thanksgiving again, but with a much smaller group this year. My daughter and I will prepare all the food except the turkeys, as my husband and son will BBQ one and smoke the other. My daughter is an extraordinary baker and will make both pecan and pumpkin pies from my mother’s recipes. The Macy’s Day Parade followed by the International Dog Show will be on the television in the background. I count my lucky stars everyday!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
