My friend Tessa learned about a brand new publication from her mother, who I’ve heard is an avid gardener, and then Tessa shared it with me. It’s called FLOWER and its founder and editor-in-Chief is Margot Shaw. I immediately subscribed and received my first publication a couple of weeks ago. I have to tell you, it’s FABULOUS! (My copy and the picture below is a little wrinkled because I’ve left it open and earmarked it so many times). Their “tag line” reads: For those who love a beautiful home both inside and out.
This magazine is filled with gorgeous glossy photography, and a mixture of beautiful gardens, interesting gardeners, invitations for garden tours from a variety of groups around the country, gardening book reviews, floral design tips, specific information about flowers (my favorite roses, for example, in this issue), entertaining ideas and even retreat information where you can be surrounded by others in gardens.
I’ve never seen another garden magazine quite as inspiring as this one! It has it all for those with a passion for flowers and gardens.
I loved the following quote which I found in a beautiful article about Rachel Ashwell’s (floral designer) new book entitled My Floral Affair:
“Gardeners are some of the loveliest people. I think it comes from
being a nurturer, and the nature of patience and acceptance.
You plant things never knowing exactly how they’ll turn out.
It’s kind of a metaphor for life.”
-Rachel Ashwell
If I were you, I’d subscribe to this great magazine. Thanks for sharing this magazine of pure joy with me, Tessa!
