I don’t know if you’re like me, but if I don’t immediately label my plants I can forget the specific varieties of what I’ve planted. This is definitely true with my fruit trees. Years ago I diligently created a list of the fruit trees I planted, but over time, I’ve swapped them out when they didn’t meet expectations. So now my list is out of date and not accurate.
Last week, I ordered some large tree labels so I could begin the process of positively identifying every fruit tree in my garden. Fortunately I was able to identify all of them, with the exception of two trees next to each other. I believe one is a Burgundy Plum and the other a Flavor Supreme Pluot, but I have no idea which is which. I’ll have to wait until they produce fruit to positively identify them.
I loved the labels I ordered and recommend them. I used a labeler to create neater labels, rather than writing the name with a Sharpie, which was another option.
Next project? Labeling my roses! Stay tuned and I’ll let you know how I like the rose labels I ordered.
