Merry Christmas

Jeff and I were invited to Newport Beach in Southern California for the Christmas boat parade by some dear friends.  The 108th annual parade was hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, and circles Balboa and Lido Islands.  With the houses on the parade route also decorated for Christmas, this sea of lights was festive and magical. My photographs do not capture the magic of the evening, but I wanted to share a few.

Large yachts, sailboats, small power boats and all watercraft in between were lit up in colored lights, some with fireworks and many playing Christmas carols.

Santa Clause and Frosty the Snowman both sped by with dancers, cheerleaders and carolers.

I am not sure how many knots the boats were traveling, but there had to be at least 50 boats that sped by in about 45 minutes.

It was such a special evening and I felt like a kid enjoying the excitement of Christmas.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas full of joy, love and light.
