I think that some of the prettiest window boxes in the world are found in the Tyrolean region of the world – in Austria and northern Italy. When we arrived in San Cassiano a few weeks ago, located in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, the window boxes greeted us from every window.
Helen and I marveled at how every single inch of the boxes were perfection. How do they do that? They seem to be a matter of local pride.
As soon as we arrived, I set out on foot to explore the little town and it’s collection of colorful window boxes. They were everywhere.
Geraniums seemed to be the most common flower in these colorful boxes. I especially love the cascading ones and the mixture of colors in each box. Aren’t they incredibly charming?
